Among the flowers family members, orchid has more variant than other flowers have. Orchid can adapt to different climate very well. They can live in almost every part of the world except the dessert and Antarctica.

As far as color is concern, Asian orchid tend to have multicolored while African are white. Certain type of orchid has flower on every stem while other variant grows multiple flowers on single stem. Orchid can grow with grasses or palm. Orchid also determined by on how they get their nutrient. Most of the orchid types grow on the tropical area with the typical environment of moist weather it is in the forest or on the mountain. These orchids usually stick them self to the threes even they are not consider as parasite.

Other types of orchid are living on the rock or rocky areas, where they catch their nutrient from the atmosphere. This would include litter, humus, rain water and event their own death leaf can be source of nutrient they need. Orchids are well known as the most adaptable plant on earth. Some Australian orchids are growing completely under the ground.

Orchid that grow on the garden are planted on the ordinary soil that just like other plant grow. If your area is not suitable to orchid still you can try to grow orchid in a hot house. The orchid seeds are very tiny so you have to be patient in growing it. On the wild, orchid seeds require a special fungus to germinate them. This maturation’s preprocess normally take ten year time. The ideal environment to grow orchid should have a bright windows, draft free an enough direct sunlight in the afternoon and morning too.
